Still want the goal setting 101?

If you are wanting to set goals this five minute guide will help you put down SMART goals.

When setting new goals it’s important to consider how we set goals and what we want to achieve.

What things are most important to you?

What would you like to do with the help from others?

What are new things you would like to try or skills you want to develop?

Where do you need or want to make changes?

Setting health and wellbeing goals can be a helpful way to improve your overall health and quality of life. Here are some steps you can follow to set health and wellbeing goals:

  1. Consider your current health and wellbeing: Take some time to reflect on your current health and wellbeing. What areas do you feel good about, and what areas do you want to improve?
  2. Identify your goals: Once you have a sense of your current health  and wellbeing, think about what you want to achieve. Your goals could be related to physical health, mental health, or both. Make sure you goals are SMART (see below).
  3. Create a plan: Once you have identified your goals, create  a plan to help you achieve them. Your plan should include specific actions you will take, as well as a timeline for completing those actions.
  4. Seek Support: it can be helpful to enlist the support of friends, family, or healthcare professional to help you achieve your goals. They can provide encouragement, accountability and guidance as you work towards your goals.
  5. Track your progress: Keep track of your progress towards your goals. This can help you stay motivated and see how far you have come.

Remember, it’s important to be kind to yourself and not get discouraged if you don’t meet your goals right away. it can take time to make lasting changes to your health and wellbeing, so be patient and keep working towards your goals.

To take it that step further for relevance to yourself, consider different areas in your life including

Relationships

Work and Education

Your health and wellbeing

Your daily life and routine

Social and community activities events and participation

We’ve taken an example of health and wellbeing to turn it into a smart goal.
